Changing assets by using “Assets Drop and hook” (Optional) #
This feature enables you to change the load’s associated assets, such as the driver, truck, or trailer, whenever necessary. It is especially useful when adapting to unforeseen circumstances or optimizing logistics during the transportation process. Furthermore, the “Assets Drop and Hook” option enables continuity in operations. You can resume the transportation of a load later using the same or different assets, depending on the situation. By using this feature, you can respond quickly to changes in scheduling, equipment availability, or route requirements, ensuring minimal disruptions.
Under this feature, you have two options to manage trailer and asset changes efficiently:
1. “Drop and optionally swap trailer at this location” option #
You can use this option if you need to drop off and potentially switch trailers at a specific location. When you enable it, two additional fields will be displayed: Pick trailer from this location and Estimated retrieval time. You can select a trailer by clicking the plus (+) button. This will open a pop-up window displaying all trailers available at the location. By default, only trailers at the current location are shown. If you need to view a complete list of trailers across the system, uncheck the Show only trailers at this location checkbox. After selecting a trailer and setting the date, finalize your changes by clicking the Save button.
2. “Swap assets at this location” option #
This option allows you to replace or change drivers or trucks assigned to a specific location. When you enable it, additional fields will be displayed. You can select a driver or truck directly from the provided fields, or you can use the Dispatch Manager option to make your selection from a full list of all available drivers and trucks. After selecting them, finalize your changes by clicking the Save button.
